"On the morning of August 17, 2021, James Purcell Shannon III of Circleville went to be with the Lord at the age of 47." James was born to Jim & Pam Shannon in 1974.
Jim graduated from Eastern Brown Local and entered the Army. He received his associate degree from Southern State Community College in Electrical Engineering and worked for Square D for over five years. "Jim loved music and played in a heavy metal band earlier in his life. Jim was a metal head and has the equipment to show for it. He also had a big heart and loved his family." Jim was active in the Vtech Program at the Veterans Hospital in Chillicothe for many years, winning several state and national awards in art and music.
Jim was preceded in death by his son Damon Keith Abbott. He is survived by his parents, Pam and (Bill) Barks and Jim and (Donna) Shannon, brother Brian Shannon, nieces and nephews, Abigail, Brian, Riley, and Josalynn Shannon. Three uncles Mike Ramsey, Butch Ramsey, and Dan Ramsey and their families and several second cousins.
Visitation will be held from 9-10am, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Heritage Free Will Baptist Church, 575 Obetz Road, Columbus, OH where a service will begin at 10am performed by Pastor Tim Stout.
