James M Thompson, 79 of Worthington/Westerville, OH, passed away June 10, 2023.
Jim was born in Cincinnati, OH on February 15,1944 to the late James and Jean Knight Thompson.
He is preceded in death by Special Aunt, Edna Thompson Scott and his beloved daughter Linda Thompson.
Surviving family includes loving wife of 35 years Susan Thompson, sons Michael and Jeff Thompson, daughter Beth Thompson and his two fur babies Stan and Zoe.
Jim moved to Columbus, OH after graduating from Cincinnati University and flourished in a 40 year career in Pharmaceutical Sales. A career in which he loved and won many top sales promotions, including four trips to Hawaii.
From his ROTC days at Cincinnati University, Jim enjoyed military history and had models of World War II ships and planes all over the house, as well as huge coffee table sized books on World War II.
His first/second love was his career in the Masonic community. Starting in high school as a DeMolay member, in Columbus he proceeded to join Blendon Lodge 339 and became Master from 1987 to 1989. He joined Scottish Rite in 1980 and served as Commander and Chief from 2002 to 2004. At which time James received the 33rd degree of Scottish Masonry.
Jim had a kind soul and believed in serving his community and friends. He was always available to meet with anyone who needed a good listener or advice. He enjoyed spoiling his kids and dogs. He had a great sense of humor leaving friends, family and his wife laughing for 35 plus years.
He will be very much missed by all his friends and family. It is very hard to say goodbye to such a unique kind hearted man.
