James A. Van Hoose, 78, of Delaware, Ohio died May 25, 2022, at Grant Medical Center, surrounded by his family. James was born and raised in Paintsville, KY, by parents Hollie and Roberta (Daniel) Van Hoose, who precede him in death. His younger brother, Luther, also precedes him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years JoAnn VanHoose, his daughter Christy (Brennen), son James (Stacey), grandchildren, Victoria, Taylor (Travis), Nicolas (Kirsten) and Grant and one great-grandson, Keagan.
James was one of 12 children and is survived by brothers, Hershel (Venus), Harold, Hollie J (Patsy), Roger (Susan), and Venny (Diane) and sisters, Ruby (Cort), Jean (Bob), Geneva (Leroy), Lillian and Sharon (Ronnie). He is also survived by sister's in law, Betty (Charles) and Janet. He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
James graduated from Columbus Tech in 1983 and started a successful business as a dental lab tech, owning Central Dental Lab for over 35 years. Everyone knew him as a caring, fun loving, family man who never met a stranger and never ran out of jokes. He loved spending time at the beach with his family and winning on the golf course.
Most important to him, though, was his love for Jehovah God. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1968 and loyally served as a congregation elder for 50 years. He was always active in Kingdom activities such as assisting older ones, assisting in the building of many Kingdom Halls, and officiating dozens of weddings. Every week James could be found in the ministry, preaching the good news of God's Kingdom, helping many to come to know God, and assist them to baptism.
He will be missed dearly by all, until the day we see him again on the paradise earth.
