James Philip Voneman, 61, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 in Westerville, Ohio.
He was born on April 22, 1961 in Kankakee, Illinois to James and Kathleen Voneman.
James is preceded in death by his father, James H. Voneman and brother-in-law, Michael McGillivray; uncles, Richard Love, Albert Shibley; aunts, Patricia Love, Kay Hart, Janet Berry and Jane Stein.
James is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kelly Voneman; mother, Kathleen Voneman; son, Evan Voneman, daughter, Emily Voneman, step-son, Michael Taylor; sisters, Jane (Tom) Voneman Duperow, Jean (Awni) Mikhail, Joyce (Tom) Voneman Cole; mother-in-law, Sandra McGillivray; sister-in-law, Kathy Lehner; nieces and nephews, Matthew Grove, Paul Kuznik, Marina Mikhail, Gabriel Mikhail, Samuel Mikhail, Ella Cole, Tommy Cole, Andrew Lehner, Ian Lehner, Katherine (Jesse) Lehner-Klinkum, Laura Lehner; aunts, Rita (Jim) Clark, Patricia Shibley; uncles, John (Colleen) Love, Tom Hart, Marty Stein and a host of family and friends.
Jim was a treasured husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He was known for his big heart and epic sense of humor. He devoted himself to his family, his church community, and the Buckeyes. He had a zest for life and enjoyed rock music, whitewater rafting, good scotch and cigars, friends, and fellowship. He left us much too soon, but we know God has great things in store for him in Heaven, and he is with his dad and beloved relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Dwell Community Church, 1390 Community Park Dr., Columbus, OH, 43229 with a celebration of life service immediately following at 3:00 pm also at Dwell Community Church. There will be a private family hour from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.
