James Nathaniel Young, Jr., age 82, of Columbus, Ohio, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 27, 2024,
at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Hospital, after a long illness.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday, October 7, 1941, to the late James
Nathaniel and Kathyrn (Callander) Young, Sr.
He is preceded in death by his father James Nathaniel Young, Sr; mother Kathyrn Young;
his brother Durward Dexter Young; his sister, Norma Jean Fields; and wife Barbara (McCarroll) Young.
Surviving family includes his brother David (Linda) Young of Pickerington, OH.; sister Rita Jo
Martin, of Boston, MA.; his stepson, Ricky McCarroll; and his sons, James N. Young, III; Monty, and Joey Young;
along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
James was educated in the Columbus Public School System. He graduated from Linden McKinley High School.
He then enlisted in the United States Air Force -serving as an Administrative Tech-order Librarian.
He was honorably discharged on August 3,1967.
James worked at General Motors and was also Self-employed as a Painter.
Later James worked at McDonald's and rose through the ranks to become a Shift Supervisor.
As a child, James was baptized and attended Sunday School at St Paul AME Church. He later joined the Church
of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, 1200 Brentnell Avenue. Leaving there, he joined Wings of an Eagle Faith Ministries,
pastored by Bishop William A, Parks, II; then lastly 2016, he became a member of Messenger of Deliverance Ministries,
Inc, pastored by Apostle /Bishop Lawrence E. (Pastor Shirl) Bailey. He enrolled in Adjutancy Training and upon
completion, he was then appointed to become a Deacon in Training -serving in this capacity until the time of his passing.
Hobbies: Oil Painting, Reading, and Studying.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
