Jane B. Heffner, 92, Friendship Village of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, December 05, 2012.
Jane was born in Bremerton, WA on September 22, 1920, to the late Dr. Arthur L. and Kate (Watson) Bender and was preceded in death by her husband, Rear Admiral Grover Chester Heffner.
Survivors include her daughter, Jann K. Heffner and husband Kevin Osterkamp of Powell, son, Dr. Grayson (Elizabeth Ann) Heffner and granddaughter, Casey Osterkamp, both of Washington D.C. Jane studied voice at the University of Washington, sang on Broadway and contributed her musical talents as the family moved duty stations. She was actively involved with P.E.O., the symphony and she served on the Opera Columbus Board
Memorial Service will be held on December 20, 2012, 10:00 AM at Broad Street Presbyterian Church,760 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43205. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH is honored to serve the Heffner Family. Messages of condolence may be left atwww.NewcomerColumbus.com.
