Jane B. Wells, 89, of Columbus, passed away peacefully in the Grace of God, Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at her home. Born to Ray and Tracy (Steen) Blakely in Steubenville, OH on July 19, 1919, Jane is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack P. Wells; son, Jack R. Wells; twin sister, Jean Conn; aunt, Freda Steen. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (John) Montgomery; grandchildren, Melissa (Paul) Belgen and John R. (Reneea) Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Christopher Belgen, Andrew Belgen, Amanda Montgomery, Celseiy Montgomery and Emily Montgomery; brother and sister-in law, Howard and Mona Wells; nieces, nephews and friends. Jane was a member of Zion Church in Steubenville, OH where she sang in the choir and belonged to Friendship Guild. She was also a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Columbus, OH where she sang in the choir. Jane served as a volunteer at Riverside Hospital for over 25 years and was an avid Buckeye fan. The family would like to thank the staff at Friendship Village and HomeReach Hospice for their wonderful care. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Pastor Tim Muller will officiate. Inurnment will be at Union Cemetery in Steubenville, OH at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for the great-grandchildren's college education.
