Jane LaVerne Conley (Cooper), 82, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a period of declining health.
Jane was born April 1, 1934 to Aurice and Arvilla (Conrad) Cooper. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Conley whom she married on May 26, 1956.
Jane is survived by her daughter Becky (Chip) Galiger and her son Michael (Amy) Conley, her grandchildren Casey (Bryan) Alldredge, Dane (Ellen)Conley, Jane Ann (Christopher) Worrell, Thomas Galiger, Callie Conley, Matthew Galiger and Cooper Galiger, who will forever hold her in their hearts. Also carrying on her loving legacy are her great-grandchildren Emery and Bryson Alldredge and Wyatt Conley. Jane is also survived by her sisters Margaret Davis and family, Sue (Thomas) Nippert and family and brother Conrad (Janet) Cooper and family, as well as a large extended family in Ohio.
Jane's family was what was most important to her. In 1987, Jane became a grandmother, which kicked-off years of loving, playing games, reading and general spoiling. Her grandchildren all loved her visits, often waiting by the front door for their grandparents to arrive. She was always sure to have all of their favorites in the candy basket in her car.
Jane dedicated her life to Christ as an adult. Her faith is shared by her family and provides much comfort to those she left behind. We know that we will see her again!
During retirement, she and Dick had a craft business (Creative Custom Crafts) and worked together to create beautiful wooden furniture and decorative items. In addition to wood-working, Jane was very musical - she played piano and taught herself to play the guitar and electric autoharp and sang in the church choir for many years. Her artistry extended to cooking and baking - she is renowned in her family as a master baker of pies….and blueberry muffins.
Jane's funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 10am at the Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, in Columbus.
She will be interred at Union Cemetery in Columbus, next to her loving husband Dick.
