Jane Ann Gruber Kilpatrick was born on February 3rd, 1958 in Wheeling, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Eleanor Carney Gruber.
She passed away on Monday, February 7th, 2022 at OSU James Cancer Hospital, in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated college with a bachelor's degree in nursing and was a registered nurse for over 30 years.
She had a passion for helping others and always had the biggest heart in the room. She welcomed everyone with open arms. You could've known her for only a few moments, and know she truly cared about what you had to say. She loved working as a travel nurse for a few years but she truly loved and enjoyed her work at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Her last position in life was working with the American Red Cross of Central Ohio. She exceeded her role as an RN by educating staff in critical care classes including EKG and other instructional opportunities.
Jane was diagnosed with Mesothelioma in October of 2020. She was a tiny but mighty woman who put up a good fight with her illnesses. She was too stubborn and never let it control her life.
She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Powell, Ohio after moving to Lewis Center, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her siblings Cynthia Louise Gruber in 1994 and Joseph William Gruber in 2020.
Jane will be deeply missed by all who spent time with her and loved her.
Surviving are three children: Jessica Louise Kilpatrick in Lancaster, Ohio. Julie Frances Kilpatrick in Lewis Center, Ohio. Jacob Kilpatrick in North Carolina. Siblings: Charles "Chuck" Gruber Jr, and his wife Pat in Bridgeport, WV. Robert Gruber and his wife Peggy in Martins Ferry, OH. Mary Patricia Gruber in Powell, OH. Judy Lee Lewis in Columbus Ohio (formerly of Lewis Center) Nephews & Nieces: Kirk and Christina Gruber, Laura and Greg Battisti and their sons Leo and Luca, Catherine Gruber, Charles "Chad" Gruber, Michael and Julie Gruber, Paul Lewis and Scott Lewis.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the time of burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling WV at a later date. A celebration of her life will be held on the same day of Mass and burial.
