Jane Martin

Jane Robertson Martin of Columbus, Ohio passed away February 3, 2025 surrounded by family and friends.

Jane is survived by her husband, Jack; son, Jay (Roberta); and grandchildren Zack Powell, Jacob Martin (Meg and Junia), Elizabeth Hanson (Jordan, Cassidy, and Isabell), Caleb Martin, and Nathan Martin. She was predeceased by her son Jeffrey Martin, grandson 1Lt. Josh Powell, and daughter Jill Rey.

Jane was born in Hopkinsville, KY on July 2, 1939 and moved to Paducah, KY soon after. She met Jack, her future husband, at a birthday party when she was 12. They became friends, later sweethearts, and married on August 22, 1958. Due to numerous moves for Jack’s work, Jane completed her Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, and Rank 1 at different Universities. After several years of classroom instruction she became the school district's Director of Special Education and completed her career as the Executive Director of a Professional Development Center serving eleven school districts. After retirement she and Jack moved to Columbus, OH. In addition to having family here, she would tell you that finding Bethel Presbyterian Church was a huge part of making them so happy and content. Jane loved the Lord and thoroughly enjoyed life trusting him.

A memorial service will be held at Bethel Presbyterian Church (1735 Bethel Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43220) on February 15, 2025. Visitation starts at 10:00 AM with a service from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
