Jane Phyllis Pruyn

Jane Pruyn, age 96, passed away peacefully at home on May 7, 2021. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles R. Pruyn.

They loved their Minerva Park home, which they built in 1955, and where both passed. She was an avid golfer, at Bridgeview Golf Club, the Minerva Park golf course, Riviera Country Club, and was a member of the Columbus Women's Golf Association. Also a fine card player, she beat her family members regularly at euchre as recently as two weeks ago. Jane was also very artistic, with several of her oil paintings displayed in the home.

Her son, Gary, was her caregiver, as she was wheelchair bound. His loving care enabled her to stay at home until her name was called to be with our Lord and all her loved ones who had passed on. She was the last of her generation and is survived by two children, Gary and Karen, two grandchildren, Kim (Gene) Mangrum, and Jamie Roach, four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Casey, and Zach Mangrum, and Chloe Roach, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a wonderful mother, friend and role model. Jane will be buried in Otterbein Cemetery, next to her parents, Albert and Alma Hessler, and her lifelong love, husband Chuck.
