OBITUARY for Janeith Gregory

Our beloved mom, Janeith Gregory (also known as Jann) who was 87 years old passed away in her Dublin, Ohio residence. She was born on June 29, 1935, in Jodie, WV and began her journey to her heavenly home on June 17, 2023.

She was preceded in death by Victor Gregory (husband), James Gregory (son), Audrey (Thomas) Boles (mother), Clarence "Tat" Boles (father), and Reta (Boles) Hoadencamp (sister). Left behind is her brother, sister-in-law (Charles and Leah Boles) of Geneva on the Lake, OH; and her sister (Carolyn (Boles) and Howard "Mickey" Payne) of Bergoo, WV; and many nephews and nieces. Jann leaves to cherish her memories to; her devoted son Joe Gregory and Melissa Lopez-Gregory (Daughter-in-Law), Meredith Gregory (Granddaughter), loving daughter Darlene (Gregory) Butler and Rick Butler (Son-in-Law), Ryan Butler (Grandson) and Julianne (Smithwick) Butler (Grandson's wife), Talan Butler (Great Grandson), Olivia Butler (Great Granddaughter), and Kevin Butler (Grandson) and Rhiannon (Landers) Butler (Grandson's wife), and Benjamin Butler (Great Grandson).

Jann was an avid reader and loved the places her books took her while reading. She also enjoyed crocheting hundreds of Afghans throws for family members and hats for the homeless to wear during the winter months. Her career ended in retirement as a Unit Coordinator at St Elizabeth Hospital, but she previously worked as business manager, as a model for J.C. Penny, and an account clerk for the Government before moving to Japan with her two young children and husband. Jann treasured her beloved pets Gidget and Kandi but is forever grateful to Becky and Manny for caring and loving mom's greatest pet, Gracie.

Mom greatly appreciated the Brookdale-Muirfield staff for their dedicated care, continuous assistance, and the loving friendship they provided. Jann made new and dear friend with her neighbor Barb and the other ladies she spent so much time with at Brookdale. Thank you to Barb, Kay, Shirley, and Jackie for the laughter over meals. Lastly, a special mention to James for being with our mother during her transition to her heavenly home.

A graveside service will be at the Dayton National Cemetery (a.k.a., VA Veterans Cemetery) at 4400 W. Third St, Dayton, OH 45428 on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:00am. Pastor Ryan Abbott will officiate the services on behalf of Pastor Robert Hooker. Both comforted Jann as a faithful follower at the Huber Heights First Baptist Church where she enjoyed a wonderful, strong church family for many years.
