Janet Harris

Janet "Buddy" Harris, 92, of Columbus, passed away March 18, 2022. Janet was born August 26, 1929 to the late Allen and Addie (Chambers) Harris.
Janet loved to dance, playing cards, cooking and especially spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he loved more than anything. He never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. Janet retired from DSCC in 1987 and realized he couldn't sit still so six months later started at Mediserv Pharmacy and worked there for over 20 years until they closed. Janet proudly served in the United State Army and enjoyed telling his family all of the stories about his time of service.
He will be deeply missed by daughter, Brenda Hughes; sons, John (Lorraine), Tyrone, Michael, Gary (Kristina), Darryl Harris and Bill Reese; granddaughters, Shantell Howard, Danielle Harris, Shaneka (Hernan) Collins, Andrea (Jonathan) Butler, Sherri (Tayon) Hughes, Shanice Coleman, Tiffani Harris and Dionne Harris; grandsons, Ty Harris, Brandon (Sandra) Jones, Justin Harris, John Harris, Marcus (Joanna) Harris and Jonathan Harris; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Rozetta Russell, Retha McDonald, Elizabeth Miller, Willie Nell Harris, Ruby Harris, and Minnie Pearl Harris.
Janet was preceded in death by his wife Evone Harris, siblings Lucille Russell, Johnnie Harris, Tommie Harris, Lewis Harris, and Eddie Harris.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 2pm until the time of service at 3pm at Newcomer NE Chapel 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janet's honor to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215.
