Janet L Hicks

Janet L Hicks, of Orient, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 24, 2021. She was born on December 19, 1958, in Beckley, WV, to the late Luther and Janet (Buzzard) Cooper.

Janet enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She loved spending time in Tennessee, riding on Thrashers bike and spending time with him. She enjoyed listening to music and watching movies with Thomas. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Thrasher; children, Roger (Loren) Hicks, Shawn (Amy) Hicks, Siera (Matthew) Buckman, Shea Thrasher, Shalonda Thrasher, Britney Thrasher and Taylor (Jacob) Nelson; grandchildren, Layla, Adrina, Kaylee, Kara, Aaliyah, Lily, Roger, Shawn, King, Gabriella and A'layah; siblings, Paula McDaniel, Joe Cooper and Kevin Cooper; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Cynthia Filio, Donna Pyles, Rocky Cooper, Vonna Tippie.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Newcomer SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, 43123, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., where a funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery, in Galloway.
