Jay E. Parsley

Jay E. Parsley, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away on September 5, 2024, at the age of 83 in Ashville, Ohio. Born on August 18, 1941, in Kermit, West Virginia, Jay spent his life creating a legacy of kindness and love.

Jay enjoyed a fulfilling career, proudly working for General Motors for 31 years before retiring. At the age 40, he had a personal milestone by earning his GED, showcasing his commitment to lifelong learning. His family fondly remembers how he loved to add extra rooms to their home, a trait that brought laughter and joy to their lives.

A people person at heart, Jay never met a stranger. He was known for his kindness and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. While he could be quite stubborn, this only added to his charm. He was a proud born-again Christian, holding a deep and abiding faith that guided him throughout his life.

An enthusiast of nostalgia, Jay loved to reminisce about the old times and had a particular fondness for old cars. His conversations often revolved around cherished memories and the stories of days gone by, bringing smiles to those around him.

Jay is survived by his loving family, including his son Solomon (Rachelle) Parsley, son Nathan Parsley, daughter Rachel Courts, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. They will carry forward the values he instilled in them through his dedicated love and unwavering faith.

He is preceded in death by his father Andrew Parsley, mother Virgie Lee, daughter Tiffany Eve Parsley, and wife Sindy Parsley, who he loved dearly. Jay's presence will be missed deeply by all who knew him, but his legacy of love and kindness will forever be remembered.
