Jay Ward

October 28, 1938 — May 4, 2024

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, Jay Ward on Saturday, May 4th, 2024. Born October 22, 1938 in Inez, KY. He went quietly in his sleep, and on his own terms at home.

He was well known for being a dedicated employee for Doran Engle Florist (Walter J Engle Wholesale Florist), Columbus, Ohio for 72 years logging over 3 million miles on the road. He was an avid gardener and race car enthusiast. He loved his old westerns and country music. He loved his family, friends and pets. He had an easy going temperament that made everyone his friend right away.

He is survived by his only sister, Sue Miller, husband Larry and their 2 daughters. His first wife, Carol Ward. His only son, Randy Jay Ward, wife, Mary Ann and their 2 sons. Oldest daughter, Sherryl Ortiz and husband Roger, and baby girl, Rebecca Tucker, husband Jay and her only son along with several great grandchildren. He is also survived by three children of his second wife Patricia (Schilling) Ward, Diane, Johnny and Trina along with their children.

He is preceded in death by second wife Patricia (Schilling) Ward and her son, Chuck.
