Jean Allene Scharenberg, 85, passed away April 10, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Charles Maurer; siblings, Doris Weatherly, Helen Ruff, Ruth Henderson, Joseph Maurer, John Maurer and Homer "Whitey" Maurer. Jean is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ted Scharenberg; children, Nancy (Tom Vail) Smith of Owego, NY, Janis Scharenberg of Grove City, OH, Diana Tessier of Bloomington, IN, and Jay (Sandy) Scharenberg of Sidney, OH; grandchildren, Joseph Tessier, William Tessier, Katherine Smith, Jason Scharenberg, Gina DeFranco and great-grandchild, Elizabeth DeFranco Flinner. Jean graduated from OSU with a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1948. Visitation Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 5-7 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior at Trinity United Methodist Church, 4850 Haughn Rd., Grove City, OH. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's memory to Trinity UMC or the charity of one's choice.
