Jeannette "Jeannie" Ivery, 73, of Columbus, passed away April 1, 2023. Jeannie was born December 9, 1949 in Columbus, OH to David and Hazel (Snyder) Alvoid.
She loved to read & take walks, but her true passion was to care of others, especially the elderly. Jeannie enjoyed delivering meals on wheels, doing home healthcare, and really just helping anyone in need. She was a private caregiver over the years to numerous people. She often balanced three or more jobs at once while taking care of her mother and kids. Jeannie was the hardest working person most of us knew & she almost never took a day or weekend off. In the face of so much adversity throughout her life, this woman never sat idle.
Jeannie will be deeply missed by her; children Harold "Skip" (Heather) Ivery, Sean Ivery, LaToya Spencer; grandchildren Rodney (Chelsea) Peyton, Lindsey Peyton, Madison Ivery, Kennedy Ivery, and Monroe Ivery; great-grandchildren Levin and Coralee Peyton; brother Buddy Alvoid; niece Stephanie Mullins; father of her children Harold Sr.; partner Ralph Spencer along with many other family and friends.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Melinda Alvoid, sisters Yvonne and Carol.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 23, from 1pm until the time of memorial service at 2pm at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus.
