Jerrold (Jerry) V. Roff, of Gahanna, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 . He was born on November 22, 1939 to Virgil and Jeanette Roff.
He was in the last graduating class of Lowell High School in Lowell, OH, graduating in 1957. He was retired from the city of Whitehall as the Code Enforcement Officer. He was with the Whitehall Reserve Police Department for 25 years with the rank of Captain.
He loved to hunt and fish and ride his motorcycle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jean and his children, Susan Matyas of Brazil, IN, Angie Perry of Lowell, OH, Mark Roff of Gahanna, OH and his daughter-in-love, Charlotte Roff of Canal Winchester, OH; grandchildren, Jenna Eldrid (John), Tad Matyas, Jillian Vermilyea (Josh), Tara Madison (Jon), Justin Perry (Geneva), Stephanie Miller (Bryan), Eric Matyas (Molly), Shawn Matyas (Cole) and seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Bill Rider (Marsha), sisters-in-law, Barb Halterman (Rob), Donna Murphy (Dave), Cathy Kitchen, Margie Earles and Joy Rider. Many nieces and nephews, also special bonus daughters, Lisa, Olivia and Teresa Hawkins and four fur babies, Jada, Miho, Snoopy & Stumpy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister; in-laws, William and Eva Rider; son, Jerry Roff; granddaughter, Jeanette Roff; great-grandson, Jace Vermilyea; brothers-in-law, Steven Rider, Lou Kitchen, Brian Earles and sister-in-law, Mary Cuellar.
He was very proud of his friendship with Bill W. that was for 10,044 days. He will be cremated and a memorial service will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 31 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm.
