Jerry Davis, 70, of Grove City, passed away August 18, 2010 after 10 years of cancer treatment. Jerry was born November 7, 1939 in Willow Grove, OH. He graduated from St. Clairsville HS and served in the US Army traveling Europe playing football and baseball. Jerry loved variety and went on to be a Bank Loan officer, Paint Salesman, Retail Store Owner, Contracting Business Co-owner among others. He retired from Interstate Construction in 2004. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, NAUS, VFW, American Legion, and the Oakhurst Country Club, scoring 2 holes-in-one. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend. Everyone appreciated his wit, stories and smile. Jerry also loved fishing, flying airplanes, scuba diving and sky diving. He is survived by wife, Laura; daughters, Shelley (Mike) Parrish, Denise (Michael) Burcham; granddaughters, Sarah (Greg) Stynchula, Alyssa Parrish, Maggie Burcham, Abby Burcham, Kate Burcham; great granddaughter, Amelia Stynchula; brother, Richard DeLuca; mother-in-law, Margaret Thornton; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Noel) Smithers and Jeanne (Lou) Postage and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by mother, Edna (Angelo) DeLuca; father, Paul Davis; grandparents, Walter and Helen Bishop; father-in-law, Robert Thornton and brother-in-law, Ronald Thornton. Many thanks to Larry and Patti Haldeman and Dean and Jane Lytle for their assistance during Jerry's illness. A memorial service will be held at Oakhurst Country Club, Grove City, on August 21, 2010 at 1 pm, receiving will begin at 12 noon.
