Jerry Johnson, 72, of Orient, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Whispering Pines Nursing Home. He was born September 20, 1936 in Adams County. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, John Johnson and brother, Paul Johnson. He worked for White Westinghouse for 20 years. Jerry is survived by his wife, June Smith Johnson; sons, Kenneth (Darlene), Joe (Debbie) and David (Sandra) Henson; daughter, Connie (Carl) Johnson; mother, Gladys McFarland Johnson; brothers, Kenneth (Bev), Leonard (Hope) and Gene (Jane) Johnson; sisters, Francis Dettwiller and Sharon Kilgore; eleven grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 14, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home S.W. Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with Pastor Mark Diemer, officiating. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace of God Lutheran Church, 1000 Demorest Road Columbus, Ohio 43204 or Southern Care Hospice, 220 N. Plaza Blvd. Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
