Jesse "Deuard" Hurt Jr., 79, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011. He was born October 8, 1931, in Regina, KY, son of the late Jesse and Mary Webb Hurt Sr. Jesse was preceded in death by his wife, Alcie Lee Phipps Hurt; son, Sonny Lee Hurt; brothers, Danny and Douglas Hurt; sister, Kathleen Coleman. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Jesse is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Jeffrey) Maher and Allison (Paul) Hubbard III; sister, Audessa (Jerry) Potter; brother, Delon (Ann) Hurt; grandchildren, Danielle Maher, Cristy Schippert, Sonny Hurt II and Jacob Hubbard; great grandchildren, Logan Maher-Jones, Ross Maher-Jones, Georgia Lee Davis, Emmalee Wadsmuth, Ellee Schippert, Patrick Hurt, Roxie Hurt, Derrick Hurt and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, January 9, 2011 from 1:00-5:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 5:00 PM.
