Jessica Lynn Hays

Jessica “Lynn” Hays, 61, of Westerville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Lynn was born June 25, 1963 in Columbus, Oh to Paul Hasson and Florence (Clarke ) Hasson. 

Lynn easily excelled in her education, taking college classes while in high school. She went on to receive her Masters Degree in Behavioral Psychology at The Ohio State University. She was a member of MENSA and has been an Ordained Minister since January 13th, 2005.

Lynn dedicated her life’s work to dogs. She lobbied to pass the Bully Breed legislation in Ohio. She trained countless dogs to work in the police force and at Columbus Humane Society with Bully Breeds. She was a nationally decorated showman in the AKC, World Wide Kennel Club, and Columbus All-Breed. She additionally worked at Blendon Kennels for over 37 years. 

Lynn will be deeply missed by her husband of 15 years; David Chapman. 

Survived by their child, Lynsey (Chapman) Blascak and beloved grandchildren, Brayden Hunt and Madix Blascak. As well as by her sister Nancy Johnson and family. 

 Visitation will be Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2 pm to 4pm at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus. An open service will be at the funeral home lead by Pastor Jim Meacham at 4pm after visitation. We will receive friends after the service at the Worthington Moose Lodge 1427, 1970 Schrock Rd. Westerville, OH 43229.
