Jim Artis 83 of London, Ohio, died Monday, February 10th, 2025, at Mt Carmel Hospital in Grove City, Ohio
Jim was born July 13,1941, a son of the late Clyde and Gladys Artis of Wakefield, Ohio.
On October 12, 1961, Jim married Ruth Conley who survives in London, Ohio. Jim is also survived by his daughter: Tami Lamb (Eddie) of Franklin Ohio, 4 Grandchildren: Destiny Reed (Kert), Joshua Buchanan (Keila), Shaunte Griffith, Braedon Lamb (Kelsey), 5 Great Grandchildren: Garet Reed (Shelbie), Gavin Reed, Izaya Buchanan, Khloe Buchanan, Colson Lamb, and 1 Great Great Granddaughter Berkley Reed. Jim is also survived by sibling Ralph Artis (Bernice) of Gig Harbor, Washington.
Jim is preceded in death by his daughter Carla Griffith and brothers Russell, Clyde, John, Kenneth, Bill, and sisters Winona Barnhart, Lois Carson, Fannie Elliott, Pat Mayberry, and Carol Carey, and Bona Colegrove.
He worked at McCall’s in Dayton Ohio for 20 years and then moved to Columbus and worked for the State of Ohio for 20 years prior to retiring.
Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He lived life fully always seeing the positive side of things.
A viewing will be held for family and friends Friday, February 14, from 9:00 am-11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City, Ohio. Jim will then be transported to Scioto Cemetery in Lucasville, Ohio, where there will be a grave side service performed (Jon Black).
