Jimmie G. Landers, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2024
while living in Ohio. Jimmie was born on March 3, 1934 to the late Alonzo Neal and Mary
Elizabeth Beaty in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Jimmie is preceded in death by her husbands, James Anderson, Joe Glassco and Homer
Landers; 8 brothers and sisters, and her grandson, Scott Glassco.
She is survived by her children, James (Susan) Anderson of Columbus, OH, Donna (Robert)
Tillman of Reno, NV, Jeffrey (Lori) Glassco of Little Chute, WI; grandchildren, Erin (Jesse)
Blackburn, Sean Uits, Laura (Steven) Coleman, Meagan (Matthew) Weaver, James (Perla)
Anderson, Nate (Sarah) Glassco, Zach Hageman, and Bruce Glassco; 8 great-grandchildren;
and too many cousins, nieces and nephews to count.
Jimmie was the last of 9 children and was always called the "baby" by everyone in the family.
She was a cheerleader and star basketball player at Ninnekah H.S. She spent time in
Germany and Texas but the majority of her life was spent in Oklahoma. Jimmie was a
longtime and active member of The First Baptist Church of Lexington. God laid on her heart
to start a "clothes closet" ministry, which she started out of her home. Over the years the
ministry grew, and through it an untold number of people were helped and blessed.
Jimmie had a kind and gentle spirit, was willing to help where she could and always saw the
best in everyone. She was many things to many people, but to us, she will always be our
Mom and Grandma, the matriarch of our family. More importantly, she was a strong Christian
woman with a deep and abiding faith in God. She spent a great deal of time reading her Bible
and in prayer, especially for her family. When we think of our Mom, Proverbs 31: 25-31 often
comes to mind. We know that she is having a wonderful time reunited with her family. Jimmie
will be missed by many, but never forgotten.
Funeral Services were 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the First Baptist Church
of Lexington, 900 E. Broadway, Lexington, OK, 73051. The interment followed the service at
the Noble I.O.O.F Cemetery.
