Jo Ellen Thomas, 77, Hilliard, OH passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Jo Ellen was born in West Jefferson, OH on April 27, 1936, to Arthur and Opal (Cochenour) Crager and is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Msgt. Charles J. Thomas (USAF, Ret).
Survivors include her four daughters, Terry (Joseph) Mattia, Tamara Thomas, Tracy (Greg) Hewlett, Trina (Jim Erwin) Thomas; sister, Marianne (Tony) Poulton; brothers, Forrest (Janet) and Roger (Ann) Crager; grandchildren, Nicole Woolf, Joe Mattia, Tom Mattia, Rachel Bower, SrA. Matt Kumler, Tara Kumler, Madison Jones, Connor Jones; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Jo Ellen was a successful owner of Standard Bred Horses for most of her life, former member of the Franklin County Fair Board, member of the Hilliard Horseman Association and retired from the USTA.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 7, 2013, 3-5 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214.
Inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
