Joan R. Garber, 85, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2021. She was born on October 22, 1935 in Marion, OH.

Joan graduated from St. Mary's High School and Mount Carmel College of Nursing earning her BSN, RN. She practiced nursing at Mount Carmel before becoming an Infectious Disease Coordinator for the State of Ohio Department of Corrections. Joan was an avid golfer and past President of the Central Ohio Ladies Golf Association. She was a member of Oakhurst Country Club and Hickory Hills Golf Club. Joan was among the founding parishioners at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she was a member of the Parish Women's Organization and the Health and Wellness Committee.

Joan was greeted in Heaven by her loving husband, Bill, her parents Nan and Jack, her brother John, her sister, Mary and her grandson and her son-in-law, Phillip and Tom Runyon, as well as a multitude of family and friends.

She leaves behind her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Marty Ramseck, Jo Ellen Garber, Amy and Scott Richardson, her grandchildren, Tom and Lindsey Runyon, Emily Abrams, Anthony Richardson, sisters-in-law, Lynn Messenger, Rita Garber, and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces, nephews and best friends Rita O'Brien and Patricia Sarosi.

The family would like to thank longtime friend and family physician Dr. Steven Brezny for the wealth of knowledge and care he provided to Joan and Bill and his support and advocacy for the family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 3730 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123, with visitation from 10-11am.
