Joan "Jo" Hanshaw

Joan "Jo" Hanshaw, 68, of Commercial Point, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 6, 2012. She was born to the late Ben and Lola Adkins of Louisa, KY on September 15, 1943 and preceded in death by brother, Jerry Adkins.
Joan is survived by many loved ones including son, Lonnie R. (Pam) Hanshaw, grandchildren, Erik, Andrea, Alysha, Freyja, sisters, Betty (Paul) Childers, Nancy (Tom) Murphy, Patty (Tommy) Blevins, Linda (Kenneth) Young, Doris (Gary) Williams and numerous nieces and nephews.
Known as "One of the Golden Girls" Joan loved spending time with her family. Her most precious moments were spending weekends with her grandchildren and taking weekend trips to Kentucky with her sisters. She will long be known as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. Joan is deeply loved and will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Beckett Cemetery, Commercial Point.
