Joan Leonard, 84, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born November 26, 1928 in Mt. Vernon, daughter of the late Harley and Florence Ewing Doup.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Doup.
She was a 1946 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and was a retired legal administrator.
Joan is survived by her husband, Don Leonard; sons, Mark (Sue) Leonard and Rob Leonard; brother, John Doup; sister, Ellen Metcalfe; grandchildren, Matt (Tricia) Leonard and Mark (Danielle) Leonard; great grandchildren, Mark Jr., Hannah, Arica, Hanley and Holden.
Visitation will be Friday, April 12, 2013 from 10:00-12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the memorial service beginning at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Ct. Hilliard, OH 43026.
