Joan R. Rogers

Joan R. Rogers, age 86, passed away on December 25, 2022. She was born on September 28, 1936 in Beaver Falls, PA. to the late William Stanford and Ruth McCann. Joan graduated from Reynoldsburg High School in 1955 and worked as a bookkeeper at Ohio National Bank. She also retired from General Motors in March of 1993. While working at General Motors, she also had several part time jobs over the years, also including working at the YMCA Daycare for 5 years. Joan volunteered at Doctor's Hospital West and was a greeter at Walmart; she also played Mrs. Clause. She also was very active in her church, the Cherry Creek Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna Watson; sister in law, Sharon Stanford; brother in law, Berry Popkoff. She is survived by her sister, Billie Popkoff; brother, David Standford; children, Carrie (John) Wade, William (Janet) Rogers, Donna (John) Harrison, and Kathy Jo Brooks; grandchildren, Felicia Rogers, Amanda (Rob) Hersey, Brandon (Lindsay) Harrison, Nicole (Heath) Hayes, Kelby (Dusten) Maynard, Alan Rogers (Sydney D'Eredita), Kaitlyn (Aric) Brown; and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Friends may call at Cherry Creek Church of Christ 4977 Sullivant Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43228 on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 12:00pm. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery. Pastor Michael Breidenbaugh officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
