Joan Tillery

Joan M Tillery, 72, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away February 12, 2024. She was born on November 20, 1951, to parents Willliam and Harriet V. (Roper) Johnson.

Preceded in death by her parents, husbands William Tillery and William Royer, brother Mark Johnson, sisters Judith and Peggy Johnson, and nephew David Conkey.

Surviving family includes brother Michael (Paula) Johnson, Marilyn (Darrell) Drone, Sally Harrison, numerous nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends.

A 1969 graduate of Bishop Ready High School, Joni lived life to the fullest and made friends everywhere she went. Office staff and patients at Gentle Family Dentist, where she worked for many years. Patrons of The Patio, Blueberry Hill and her other west side favorites. Fellow explorers she met traveling and cruising the U.S. and other countries.

Joni was a best friend to her siblings, second mom to many of the Johnson cousins, and great supporter and companion for her friends. She has touched many lives and will be forever missed. Those who loved her will think of her every time they see a pink flamingo, light house, or leopard print.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23rd from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City with a service immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital here or other charity of your choice.
