Joann Marie Pryor, 84, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2022.
She was born in Akron, Ohio on October 4, 1937 to the late Harley and Loretta Harland.
She graduated from Ellet High School in Akron, Ohio.
She retired after having 42 1/2 years with Nationwide Insurance Company, in Columbus, Ohio.
During her free time she always said she did a lot of things but not a master of none. At one time she helped teach CCD classes to 3rd grade students at St. Brendan's Church. She also was the Eucharist Minister.
Joann made cakes; knitted baby blankets, booties, and hats. She made porcelain dolls and knitted prayer shawls and prayer patches for the church.
She belonged to the Red Hat Society, Euchre club with Nationwider's, and loved just to clown around.
Ohio State University Football and Basketball were her favorite sports teams.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 1/2 years Ark Pryor; brothers, Kenneth, Francis; one great grandson, Hunter.
Surviving family includes her three sons, George (Lori), James (Ruth), Vincent (Patty), seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Genevieve, Mary Louise; brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Marge; as well as, many nieces and nephews and also her beloved and spoiled pet Killer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 3393 Broadway Grove City Ohio 43123. Mass will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Brendan Catholic Church 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, Ohio 43026. Burial will take place in procession to Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.
