Joanne E. Hanshaw, 61, of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at the Cleveland Clinic. Born to John A. and Elizabeth (Sheskey) Bentz in Columbus, Joanne is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerome Bentz. Survivors include her sons, Nick Hanshaw, Brian Griffin and Michael Griffin; daughters, Julie Dean and Karen Burgess; sister, Jennifer (Tom) Davis; brothers, John (Alicia) and James (Patricia) Bentz; 7 grandchildren; nephew, John Bentz; nieces, Rebecca Van Horn, Katherine and Miriam Bentz, Christina Davis; numerous cousins and many friends. Joanne worked for the US Postal Service for over 26 years and was an avid OSU fan. Visitation will be Monday, April 6, 2009, 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH with the Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne's name may be made to the American Heart Association, 15120 Collections Center Drive (15120=Lbx#), Chicago, IL 60693 or Susan B Komen Columbus, L-2933, Columbus, OH 43260.
