Jocelyn Sue Ritter, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Pataskala, Ohio.
She was born on September 1, 1932 and adopted by the late Ernest and Frances Cady.
Jocelyn is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, F. Richard Ritter; brother, Charles Cady.
Jocelyn was a graduate of North High School, class of 1950 and Ohio University, class of 1954. She was a homemaker, freelance editor and trainer/instructor for AT&T, and volunteered as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor for The Columbus Literacy Council. Jocelyn and Dick were founding members of Lamb of God Lutheran Church and were very active in music and education in the church. She enjoyed boating, camping, RVing and spending time with family and friends.
Jocelyn is survived by children, Jeffrey (Cindy) Ritter, Deborah (David) Albrecht, David (Susan) Ritter, Janelle (Jim) McGrath; grandchildren, Sara (Phil) Banach, Leah Deason, Allan (Joy) Ritter, Noreen (Steve) Klein, Adam (Jessie) Ritter, Nicole (Mike) Zuber, Lauren Albrecht, Amanda (Bryan) Benson, Justin (Servane) Mikusa, Michelle (Shawn) Spencer, Josh (Christina) Albrecht; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Autumn, Sadie, Mallory, Monica, Natalie, Miles, Brayden, Gracyn, Beckett, Kamryn, Frankie, Abraham, Leilani, Vera, Emerson Lake, Julian, Jocelyn, Melanie; sisters, Judy Wiggins, Jerilou Cady, sister-in-law Carole Ritter, many nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10:00am at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 4925 Sunbury Rd, Columbus, OH, 43230. She will be laid to rest at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. Memorial contributions may be made to Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Jocelyn's honor.
All are welcome to join family and friends at a Celebration of Life luncheon at Lamb of God Lutheran Church following the interment.
