Jody M. Thornton

Jody M. Thornton, 68, of Lewis Center, OH, passed away on February 22, 2023. She was born on February 21, 1955 in Columbus, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marilyn Clapham, brother, John Clapham, sister, Toni (Mike) Hinkle.

Jody retired from The Ohio State University admissions department after 24 1/2 years. She was a lifelong Buckeye's fan and pet lover, especially yellow labs. She was a loving wife, mother and mawmaw. Jody loved nothing more than her family and friends.

Surviving family includes husband, Gary, sons, Gary B. (Roniann) Thornton, Richard Thornton, John Thornton, grandchildren, Saige and Troy Thornton, sister, Terri (Steve) Groves, sister-in-law, Linda Watson along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-8pm, Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH 43065.

A funeral service will begin at 10am, Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park, Lewis Center, OH.

Friends and family are invited to a luncheon reception in Jody's honor following the interment.
