Joe W. Wilson

Joe Willis Wilson, 94, of Tavares, FL, passed away January 2, 2023. Joe was born on July 22, 1928 in Louisa, Kentucky to Morda and Golda Wilson. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 59 years, Ethel, son, Rodney, sisters, Stella and Jesse.

Joe and Ethel lived in Columbus Ohio and was a Sohio owner operator, then became a teamster truck driver, and moved to Lebanon, Ohio. There he was an amazing gardener and loved to camp and fish. In his 60s, he and Ethel moved to Florida. Joe was a Master Mason of Lodge #26 in Lebanon, member of the Scottish Rite in Tavares, FL, was a Kentucky Colonel. He was also a member of the Bahia Shrine and the Tin Lizzy's in Tavares.

Joe is survived by his wife of 1 year, Laurie; 2 daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Cuckler, Galloway, OH, Cathy Adkins, Spencer, IA; son, Robert (Margaret) Wilson, sister, Clara (Marvin Kipp) Vagnier, Tavares, FL, Doris Broughton, Galoway, OH; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis, FL on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM.

Visitation Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023 from 3-5pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023 at 10am at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
