John Alatsis

John ‘Yanni’ Alatsis, 63, passed away on July 10, 2024. He was born on September 13, 1960 in Monessen, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Barbara Alatsis. John is survived by his partner/spouse of 37 years, R. Hosler. Surviving family also includes sister, Lara D. Alatsis, and numerous loving cousins including Janet Forlini, Nikki and Paul Mornak and Marylou Shamp. John is survived also by aunts Marie Bednarczyk and Caroline Vasko.

John received his MBA and undergraduate Accounting degree from Waynesburg University. He worked at Alliance Data Systems from 1986-2019 as EVP of call center operations. He participated in community outreach and volunteer activities throughout his life. John was a college sports enthusiast and OSU Buckeye fan. John is adored and will be missed by all; everyone who met him was well greeted and also called John a Friend. Family and friends continue to be grateful to the staff at Ganzhorn and at Capital City Hospice for their compassionate care to John and his visitors. 

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 7pm on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH 43065. A graveside burial service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Grandview Cemetery, Monessen, PA at 11am. After the Monessen burial, all friends and family are invited for a meal to honor John at By George’s, 1 Monongahela St., Monessen, PA.
