BACKULICH
John Backulich, 87, Columbus, known as "Pa" to everyone who loved him, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Obetz, OH to Joseph and Zorka Backulich on October 9, 1923 and is preceded in death by his parents. In 1942, he married his childhood sweetheart, Virginia "Janie" who died in 1999. They spent 57 wonderful years together; we celebrate that they are together again. Survivors include his children; Larry D. (Ruth) Backulich, Alex (Sandy) Backulich, Bonnie (George Franey) Miller; brother, David M. Backulich of Florida; grandchildren; Melissa & Guy Precht; Dawn & Tony Bussey, Shawn & Katie Backulich, Greg & Holly Franey, Selena Miller, Chelsea Backulich, Steve Lambert, Dustin Backulich; great-grandchildren, Kiara, Tiffany, O'Neal, Hillary, Devin, Sydnie, Ashley, Alyssa, Michael; nieces, nephews and many friends. John was a WWII US Navy veteran, was retired owner of Backulich Remodeling and was an Amway Distributor for over 35 years. He was a member of the 2nd Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry, the Ohio Valley Muzzle Loading Gun Club, life Member of both the Community Conservation Club of Centerburg and the American Legion. John was a gift to the OSU Anatomical Donor Program. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011, 2:00 PM at the Ellsworth Chapel Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 South Sunbury Road, Westerville, OH 43081.
