John Bowling

BOWLING, John D., 73, of Columbus, went to be with Jesus, April 17, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Hazel (Young) Bowling; sister, Louisa; brother, Vernon and granddaughter, Cynthia. John is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Bowling; son, John Bowling; daughter, Marilyn Chaney; grandchildren, Christina, Joseph, Sarah and great-grandchildren, Destiny and Joey. He is also survived by his brother, Curtis Bowling and sisters, Celestia Herdman, Barbara Frabott, Mattia Duty, Margaret Brown, Karen Ferguson, Aretta Hollis and numerous nieces and nephews. John was the pastor at Columbus Christian Holiness Church and retired from Buckeye Shape Form. He was a veteran of the US Army, as military police, during the Korean War. John was a devoted pastor and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Thursday, April 21, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway , Grove City, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00PM Wednesday, April 20, 2005. Pastor James T. Harris will be officiating with interment at Fernwood Cemetery.
