John Andersen Brownrigg, 82, of Orient, died peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2009 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born September 2, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late William and Grace Andersen Brownrigg. John served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1950. He had a successful career as a sales engineer in industrial sales from 1951-1995. John was a resident of Redding, Connecticut for more than 30 years, before moving to Ohio in 1999. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, grilling and cooking, nature and conservation, squirrel tracking, politics, and crossword puzzles. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Stubbs Brownrigg, second wife, Gladys Zorman Brownrigg, third wife, Barbara Jones Cartwright Brownrigg; brother, William Brownrigg; and granddaughter, Mary Grace Carroll. Survivors include his children Jane (Steve) Marks, Jo (Wade) Burritt, John (Tanya) Brownrigg Jr., Ann (Tim) Carroll and Bill Brownrigg; sister, Mary Jernegan; brother-in-law, Tom Stubbs; grandchildren, Lisa Marks, Stacey, Megan and Michael Burritt, Maggie and Zane Brownrigg, John and Susan Carroll, Kyle Brownrigg, and his wife Barbara's children, Debbie (Jim) Lamb, Laurie (Dale) Corbett and Robert (Kathleen) Cartwright; Barbara's 5 grandchildren and her 4 great grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City.
