John J. Burke, 80, passed away on September 23, 2022. He was born on December 15, 1941 in Columbus. John was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force.
He retired from Chemical Abstracts. He enjoyed working as a Red Coat at the Shoe, the Schott and the OSU golf course. John was a member of the Buckeye Valley Boat Club. He really enjoyed the outdoors including fishing and shooting. John also had an interest in ham radio, bowling, euchre and poker, enjoyed lunch with former co-workers and collector of a variety of things. John was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Westerville for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Burke, granddaughter, Crystal Burke.
Surviving family includes loving wife, Millie, children, John (Laura) Deerwester, Scott Burke, Angie (Bill) Hess, Missy (Jay) Dotson, grandchildren, Scott Jr., Allison, Sophia, Reese, Roman, great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Theo, Trey, Rae'Lyn, brother, Tom (Linda) Burke and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9am-10:30am, Thursday, September 29, 2022 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 N. State Street, Westerville, OH 43082, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am.
Burial will follow at Blendon Central Cemetery, Westerville, OH. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the Kobacker House - Ohio Health Hospice in John's memory.
