John Butchko, 91, of London, Ohio, passed away on May 4, 2022.
John was born on March 26, 1931, in Johnstown, PA, a son of the late George and Mary Havrilak Butchko. John was a retiree of Westinghouse Corporation and Bishop Ready High School.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Kathryn Jean (Haney) Butchko and children; Dennis Butchko, Judy McNeilance, and Barbara Beasy. Grandchildren; Devon, Daniel, and Megan.
Great-grandchildren; Audri, Ava, and Avery.
Siblings; Eleanor Borzcik, Justine Rusinko and Juliana Mills.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Anna Chinchar, George Butchko, Mary Wilkerson, Michael Butchko, Margaret, Elizabeth, Paul Butchko, Helen Royer, Joseph Butchko, Pauline Rogers and Stephen Butchko.
John served in the Navy on the USS Marshall during the Korean War. He was a long-time member of Westgate United Methodist church in Columbus Ohio. John was a humble man who was always there for others. He enjoyed working on cars, doing carpentry work and had a passion for his many hobbies including; Gardening, golf, working on crafts and lawn games. John loved nothing more than turning up to a church softball game or talking about the Columbus Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Steelers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Honor Flight network or any organization for Veterans.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate John's life at Newcomer Funeral Home on May 16, 2022 from 3pm to 5pm Memorial service to follow at 5:00pm.
