John Conville

February 5, 1937 — March 20, 2022

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of John Patrick Conville of Groveport, Ohio, on March 20, 2022, at the age of 85.

John is survived by his daughters, Kelly Marie (Conville) Mejia, (Joe), Phoenix, AZ., Shannon Clair (Conville) Meiers, Pickerington, OH., son Sean Patrick Conville, Canal Winchester, OH., grandsons Mitchell Patrick Meiers, Brennan Joseph Meiers, Zachary Tyler Mason Conville, Kamden Richard Conville, former wife Sara Lynn Conville of Canal Winchester, OH., and many dear cousins.

John was the only child of Irish immigrants John Charles and Bridget Delia (O'Hanlon) Conville in Bronx, New York. He overcame several challenges in his young life including the untimely death of his father. When John was 12, he accompanied his mother and cousin Tom to Southern Ireland. He always spoke so lovingly about their adventures and happily told everyone willing to listen about his precious time at his family's homestead. His mother married (William Tait) and the family moved to Lancaster, Ohio. He graduated from Fisher Catholic High School in 1955 and attended The Ohio State University.

John worked for Rockwell International, was fervent about sales, and found his niche in the machine tool industry. He was an avid golfer, had a laugh that audiences would pay for, and always cheered for the Buckeyes and the Browns. John cherished music, had a beautiful singing voice, and was a wonderful dancer. Many memories were made in the living room listening and dancing to music. One of his favorite songs by Frank Sinatra,
"I Did It My Way", was the mantra of his life.

John was a man of honor, charismatic, and a mentor to many. He was truly loyal to those he loved; his heart and passion for being Irish, love for family and most of all continuing the Conville legacy. John ensured that people knew that THEY were important . Another reason he was so special.

Rest in Peace John Patrick. You will be cherished and dearly missed.

The family wishes to send a special Thank You to Bella Care Hospice of Columbus, Ohio for their care and compassion.
