John Patrick Dorgan, 71, of Columbus, passed away on November 19, 2024. He was born in Columbus on July 2, 1953 to the late Edward D. and Jacqueline (Hart) Dorgan.
Those left to cherish John’s memory include son, Michael P. Dorgan; step-daughter, Dawn Pulley; and the mother of Michael, Debbie Fronius; siblings, Kathleen Dorgan Stevens, James Dorgan, Mary Dorgan Iden; niece, Aimee Smith; nephews, J.D. Dorgan and Ian Wilkinson; and many other dear and loved cousins, family members, and friends. Along with his parents, John is preceded in death by brother, Joseph Dorgan; grandmother, Mary Dorgan; Grandma and Grandpa Hart; and Grandma and Grandpa Thompson.
John served in the United States Army from December 1975 to December of 1979. When he returned home he began his career as a Service Technician in the Columbus Area for different companies. He also served as an Instructor for Hobart, Co. of Troy, Ohio; commuting daily. When he wasn’t at work, John loved to visit with his family, work on cars, watching his beloved Green Bay Packers, and of recent feeding and studying birds from his patio.
Immediate family will greet friends and family from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, Sunday, December 1, 2024 for a Celebration of Life Gathering at Newcomer Funeral Northeast, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231. Military honors will be provided at 2:15pm, Sunday, also at the funeral home. The Newcomer family is honored to serve the Dorgan family.
