John Duncan

DUNCAN
John R. Duncan born in Dry Branch, WV in 1929 has passed on to his prepared place in the house of the Lord of the 30th of April 2008 at age 78. He was a faithful husband to Ruth J, Duncan to whom he married in 1954. He was a loving father to his children to which each had a different name for him; Dad, Pop or Pa, Pappy, and Daddy. He resided in Columbus, Ohio most of his adult life and worked at General Motors retiring after 35 Years. John served twice in the Army from 1949 to 1952. He was baptized at Hampton Baptist church in East Bank, WV. He enjoyed being with his family, family vacations with his children and grandchildren, and Sunday dinners. He also liked sleeping in, hot coffee, and a cold drink. He was liked by all who met him. Preceded in death by his mother, father, 4 sisters, and his son, Richard Duncan. Survived by wife, Ruth; children, Mark (Liz), John (Melinda), Kristina (Jason) Neal; grandchildren, Nic (Amanda), Elizabeth, Andrew, John, Morgan, Grant, Jessica, Luke and his soon to be great grandchild, Skyler; as well as his sister Margaret and in-laws, Jack, Martin (Joan), Barbara (Dale) and Mel. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, 2008 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, 2008 at 1:00PM at the funeral home. Pastor Jerry Neal officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
