EDINGTON

John William Edington, age 71, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at his home. Born December 31, 1938 in Columbus to the late George "Bill" and Vivian Edington. Preceded in death also by brothers, George Michael and James Richard; sister, Norma McFarland; grandson, James Christopher Logan. John is survived and will be missed by loving wife of 52 years, Barbara Ruth; sons, Brian and Craig (Linda); daughters, Terri (Rick) Hunter and Christy (Stacey) Greenhaw; eight grandchildren: Jennifer, Alicia, Jessica, Sarah, Nicholas, Daniel, John "Bo" and Tommy; and four great grandchildren: David, Brian, Jordan and Riley; brothers, Kenneth (Barbara), Steve (Sue); sisters, Joyce Neff, Patricia Moore and Donna (Gene) Pierce; numerous nieces and nephews; his two precious dogs, Maggie and Rosie; other family members and numerous friends. John was active with youths for over thirty years as a football coach, West Mound Rams, Binns Bengals, Riverbend Raiders, Findland Middle School and Westland Youth. He also coached baseball. John was employed as an organizer for Carpenters Local 200, appointed to the Ohio Council of Carpenters, then on loan to OCSEA to organize state employees. Visitation Wednesday December 22, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 12 PM at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Delaware, OH.
