John A. Ely, 74, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008 at home. John was preceded in death by brothers, Donald J., Charles Jr., William and Harold Ely. John is survived by son, Wayne (Kim) Ely of Columbus; granddaughter, Anna Ely; grandson, Nathan; stepdaughter, Brenda Tincher of Warsaw, OH; and brother, Kenneth Ely of GA. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 11 for many years and worked for 38 years as a truck driver for Yellow Freight. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 11:00AM-1:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM immediately following visitation. Pastor Dale George officiating.
