John Gillenwater

GILLENWATER

John "Mark" Gillenwater, born December 2, 1965, passed away May 4, 2011, in Columbus, OH. Beloved husband of Elizabeth Diez Gillenwater; father of Noah Jonathan Gillenwater; stepfather of Alixander Jacob Penrod; son of Mack Gillenwater and stepson of Linda Gillenwater of Barboursville, West Virginia and cherished member of his extended family. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Jerrie Lee Williams Gillenwater; grandparents, John and Berta Gillenwater and Norman and Gleaves Williams. Although for many years a resident of central Ohio, most recently of Delaware, Ohio, Mark was a native son of West Virginia, where in 1984 he graduated from Barboursville High School in Barboursville, West Virginia. In addition, he received his Liberal Arts Degree from Marshall University and his Nursing Degree from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing, both institutions in Huntington, West Virginia. For several years, he was a nurse with the Ohio Health System, most recently Mark served loyally and devotedly in his profession in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Loved-ones and friends may attend the Visitation for Mark on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service at 3:00 PM.

Interment will take place Saturday, May 14, 2011, 1:00 PM at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, 5547 W Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, WV 25705.
