John Carl Griffith

John Carl Griffith, age 63, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly on July 9, 2021. He was born on March 26, 1958, in Lancaster, to Marilyn and John D. Griffith.
John graduated from Capitol University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. He went on to marry the love of his life, Shelly, in 1986 and spent over 35 wonderful years together. He worked for 30 years in the food service industry. He was currently medically retired and enjoyed spending his time cooking, fishing, and woodworking. Spending time with his family was something he cherished. Friends quickly became family to John, and he took care of everyone he loved. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

He is survived by his wife, Shelly Griffith; children, Dane (Heather) Griffith, Megan Griffith; mother, Marilyn Tipton; sisters, Susan (Thad) Goodman, Kathy (Dan) Rogers; parent-in-laws, Fred and Sandy McPherson; brother-in-laws, Bill McPherson, Bryan McPherson, and Alan (Tammy) McPherson; sister-in-law, Mendy (Mike Gallaugher) Thomas; many nieces, nephews and cousins, and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Cameron Griffith; and father John D. Griffith, who he will be able to embrace in Heaven.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 4-6 p.m., at the Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, 43123, where a funeral service will begin at 6 p.m.
