WELCH

John "Jack" J. Welch, 65, of Grove City, passed away Monday, January 14, 2008 at home. John worked 6 years as a fire fighter for Franklin Township Fire Department, and he retired after 32 years from the Columbus Division of Fire. During his career he won many service awards, including the Distinguished Service Award from the Columbus Division of Fire. John was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Vereda Welch; and brother, Richard Welch. John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jane; daughters, Janice (Mike) Winland, JoAnn (Scott) Perry; son, Jason (Wendy) Welch; grandchildren, Chelsea, Payton, Tyler, Abigail, Elizabeth; sister, Helen (Tom) Moore; brother, Walter (Phyllis) Welch; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2008 from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3730 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Father John Swickard will be officiating with interment at Fernwood Cemetery.
